Dr. Rachel Allbaugh, DVM, MS, DACVO, is a Professor of Veterinary Clinical Sciences at Iowa State University, where she has served as faculty for over a decade. Her journey in veterinary medicine began in her home state of Iowa, where she earned her DVM from Iowa State University. Following graduation, she completed a private practice rotating internship in Greensboro, North Carolina, before pursuing her residency in veterinary ophthalmology at Kansas State University, where she later served as faculty before returning to her Iowa roots.
Dr. Allbaugh's contributions to veterinary medicine are extensive, with over 70 peer-reviewed publications and 200 presentations to her credit. Her expertise spans both small animal and equine ophthalmology, with particular focus on surgical techniques and adnexal issues.
A board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist, Dr. Allbaugh brings both expertise and enthusiasm to her role as an educator. She is particularly passionate about making ophthalmology accessible and understandable to veterinary students and practitioners, taking complex concepts and breaking them down into digestible pieces.
